Azuma Makoto







El artista y diseñador Makoto Azuma dirige un taller floral de alta costura llamado Jardins des Fleurs en Moto-Azabu, Tokio. Su trabajo con las plantas y las flores también se extiende a la práctica artística y personal donde crea una gran variedad de esculturas, instalaciones y objetos que utilizan árboles, hojas, musgo junto con otras plantas orgánicas y artificiales. Una de sus exposiciones más recientes, "Collapsible Leaves" en Eye of Gyre Gallery  implicó una notable colección de esculturas suspendidas y un gran montado de hojas plegadas en capas. Todas las piezas son únicas, Makoto trabaja sobre cada detalle en cada pieza que parece como si ese fuera su estado natural.

The artist and designer Makoto Azuma runs  a haute couture flower shop called Jardins des Fleurs in Moto-Azabu, Tokyo. His work with plants and flowers also extends to personal and artistic practice which creates a variety of sculptures, installations and objects using trees, leaves, moss along with other organic and artificial plants. One of his most recent exhibition, "Collapsible Leaves" at Eye of Gyre Gallery  involved a remarkable collection of suspended and mounted sculptures made of tightly folded and layered leaves. All  the pieces are unique, Makoto works on every detail in every piece that looks as if it were their natural state.

Mathias Kiss






Estas esculturas elaboradas con espejos son obra del artista Húngaro con sede en París Mathias Kiss. Su exposición se titula Miroir Froissé y se exhibe actualmente en Galerie Armel Soyer, Paris. Mathias dedico sus primeros años de trabajo a la realización de los techos en los palacios parisinos, un tema recurrente en torno a la libertad y la rebeldía, el cielo en todas sus formas, se convirtió en una gran fuente de inspiración. En 2002 creo junto con Olivier Piel la  Agencia Attilalou y abrió una galería en el Marais, un lugar para encuentros y experimentación, donde sus numerosas creaciones e instalaciones nacieron entre fotógrafos, estilistas y diseñadores.

These sculptures made ​​with mirrors are the work of Paris-based Hungarian artist Mathias Kiss. His exhibition  is titled Miroir Froissé and currently showing at Galerie Armel Soyer, Paris. Mathias  devoted his first works to the realization of ceilings in parisian palaces; a recurring theme around freedom and defiance, the skies in all its forms became a great source of inspiration. In 2002 he along with Olivier Piel opened  the  Agency Attilalou a gallery in the Marais, a place for meetings and experimentation, where his numerous creations and installations were born between photographers, stylists and designers.

En 2011, St Clair Superior Development Corporation, en Cleveland OH, inauguró su sexta campaña anual de arte público para celebrar el Año Lunar Chino. Para dar inicio a la celebración se instalaron 25 esculturas de fibra de vidrio con forma de conejo, cada escultura fue intervenida por diferentes artistas creando un diseño único. Las esculturas fueron patrocinadas por decenas de empresas locales y se instalaron a lo largo del barrio de St. Clair y en algunos puntos clave dentro y alrededor del centro de Cleveland. A través de una variedad de programas de educación y otros eventos relacionados con Asia durante todo el año, este proyecto pretende celebrar la conciencia cultural y apoyar a la educación artística y sus artistas locales.

In 2011, St. Clair Superior Development Corporation, Cleveland OH, opened their sixth annual season of public art to celebrate the Chinese Lunar Year. To kick off the celebration, theye installed 25 fiberglass sculptures shaped like a rabbit, each sculpture  was intervened by different artists creating a unique design. The sculptures were sponsored by dozens of local companies and settled along the St. Clair neighborhood and some key points in and around downtown Cleveland.  In addition to the variety of education programs and other Asia-related events throughout the year, this project aims to celebrate cultural awareness and support for arts education and local artists.

Lego Sculptures by Sean Kenney






El artista neoyorquino Sean Kenney nos trae su mas reciente trabajo, 27 fantásticas esculturas creadas a partir de mas de medio millón de piezas de Lego. Las esculturas estarán en exhibición del 14 de Abril- 28 de Octubre en los Jardines de Reiman en Iowa, formando parte de su exposición titulada"Nature Connects". Sería fantástico poder caminar entre una mariposa de 5 pies de altura, o ver a un colibrí de casi 8 pies sobre una gigantesca flor. The New York artist Sean Kenney brings his latest work, 27 fantastic sculptures created from more than half a million Lego pieces. The sculptures will be on display from April 14-October 28 at Reiman Gardens in Iowa as part of their exhibition entitled "Nature Connects". Filthy Luker

Filthy Luker es un pintor que realmente ataca a su audiencia. Luker transforma el ambiente urbano con plantas gigantes que crecen en medio de construcciones, enorme pulpos sobre edificios y faros, árboles que nos vigilan, lápices gigantes que escriben sobre las paredes, etc. Este tipo de arte brillante con humor, imprudencia, nos atrae con una gran fuerza para mirar el mundo de una manera nueva.

Filthy Luker is a painter who really attacks his audience. Luker transforms the urban environment with giant plants that grow in the midst of construction, huge octopus on buildings and lighthouses, trees watching us, giant pencil writing on the walls, etc. This kind of brilliant art with humor, recklessness, draws us with a great strength to look the world in new ways.

Valérie Buess







Valerie Buess es una artista Suiza que actualmente vive en Alemania. Durante los últimos 20 años ha trabajado principalmente con papel. En su trabajo Buess crea objetos a través de rollos, fragmentos y torsiones de paginas de libros y pequeños toques de color. Generalmente crea formas orgánicas que se asemejan a erizos de mar, corales y cualquier forma de vida bajo el mar. Interpretadas como obras de arte, objetos decorativos o esculturas, estas creaciones resultan únicas. Es fantástico como se pueden reutilizar algunos materiales para crear nuevos objetos y darles una nueva vida.

Valerie Buess is a Swiss artist who currently lives in Germany. During the past 20 years has worked primarily with paper. In her work Buess creates objects through scrolls, fragments and twisting of pages of books and little touches of color. Generally creates organic forms that resemble sea urchins, corals and all life under the sea. Interpreted as works of art, decorative objects and sculptures, these creations are unique. It's great how you can reuse some materials to create new objects and give them new life.

Fernando Casasempere






Fernando Casasempere es un artista chileno, su mas reciente obra se titula “Out of sync” que se está presentando en el histórico edificio de Somerset House en Londres. Esta muestra que consta de 10,000 flores hechas de greda, habla de la conexión que Fernando siente por su tierra natal. Según sus palabras, cada flor es única y representa “una sensación de conformidad, pero que aún nos permite ver las diferencias en imagenes repetitivas“. Además, quería mostrar las influencias de la cultura pre-colombina y que aún se puede trabajar con la greda como un elemento del arte contemporáneo. Los curadores de Somerset House han tenido sólo palabras de elogio para el artista chileno: “Él constantemente quiebra los límites de la disciplina  experimentando con distintas mezclas y materiales”. La siguiente parada de “Out of Sync” luego de su término en Londres el 27 de Abril,  es Santiago de Chile, donde se estará presentando en las afueras del Palacio de La Moneda. Y finalmente encontrará un lugar permanente en el desierto de Atacama, se cree que cerca de Antofagasta, aunque el sitio exacto no está determinado.

Peter Anton






Peter Anton es un artista estadounidense y escultor. Su tema principal es la comida con un énfasis en los chocolates y otros dulces. Él crea gigantes esculturas realistas y es mejor conocido por " Bigger than life " un proyecto de cajas de chocolates de gran tamaño. Su studio de Anton puede parecer mas bien una tienda de dulces, ya que está lleno de docenas de golosinas que utiliza como modelo. Su proceso de inicio es comer, oler, sentir, estudiar y diseccionar un nuevo alimento una y otra vez, con el fin de la hiper-familiarizarse con la nueva asignatura. Después, comienza el largo y tedioso proceso de esculpir, tallar, lijar, pintar, para así lograr la construcción de sus obras en medios mixtos.

Peter Anton is an American artist and sculptor. His main theme is food with an emphasis on chocolates and other sweets.  He creates giant realistic sculptures  and is best known for "Bigger Than Life" project boxes of chocolates large.  At times Anton's studio can resemble a sweet shop since it is filled with dozens of real treats which he uses as models.  His beginning process is to eat, smell, feel, examine and dissect a new food over and over again, to the hyper-familiar with the new subject. Then he begins the long and tedious process of sculpting, carving, sanding, painting, in order to achieve the construction of his works in mixed media.

Meredith Dittmar









Meredith Dittmar es una artista plástica de Portland, Oregon. Meredith trabaja en escenas tridimensionales elaboradas en Premo Polymer Clay y alambre. Su obra ha sido exhibida en Estambul, Berlín, Los Ángeles, Seattle, San José y su más reciente exposición en la galería Jonathan Levine (NY) y México. Su más reciente proyecto es The Meta Perspective, un conjunto de obras que explora la conexión esencial y la belleza en todas las cosas vivas, la evolución multifacética en el universo y la trascendencia e inclusión de las cosmovisiones del pasado.

Her work has been exhibited in Istanbul, Berlin, Los Angeles, Seattle, San Jose and his latest exhibition at the Jonathan Levine gallery (NY) and Mexico.
