DIY Scalloped Hem Short

Listo has creado una nueva prenda!

Given the success of our  DIY Scalloped Hem Skirt  post, we bring you another DIY to transform a pair of pants, with three simple steps you can give new life to those boring pants or maybe some favorites pants that have been damaged.

Materials:
-Scissors and chalk
-Fray Check
-Pants or short
-Paper template

* Note: The Fray Check is a product that prevents the fabric from fraying, if you can not get it you can use clear glue.

Step 1- Create the template
On a piece of paper, draw half circles next to each other,
it dosen't matter how many half circles you made, you can move the template all around the short.

Step 2- Mark the template
Place the template over the short and mark with a chalk fabric, move the template
and continues drawing all around the short. Another way is as shown in the video, simply place the template on the fabric and hold it with pins, then begins to cut the fabric.

Step 3 - Apply Fray Check
Once you cut the waves apply the product as specified in the instructions, another way is to apply a little clear glue across the edge of the waves. This is to prevent the fabric from
fraying . Ready you has created a new garment!

DIY Scalloped Hem Skirt

Materiales:
-Tijeras y gis
-Maquina de coser e hilo
-Falda circular

Paso 3- Hacer Zig Zag

Materials:
-Scissors and chalk
-Sewing machine and thread
-Circular Skirt
-Paper for the template

* Note: If you don't have a circular skirt click here for a tutorial to make one. Make the skirt with simple directions and then follow the next steps:

Step 1- Create the template
On a piece of paper, draw half circles next to each other, it dosen't matter how many half circles you made,
you can move the template all around the skirt.

Step 2- Mark the template
Place the template on the skirt and mark it with chalk, move the template and continues drawing all around the skirt. Remember to always draw the same height to make it perfect.

Step 3 - Make Zig Zag
Using the sewing machine, zig zag all around the skirt along the line you drew earlier.

Step 4 - Cut the edges
Once you have completed the zig zag across the skirt, cut below the sewing and ready! You get a new skirt with a totally different style.

* Another alternative option is to use self-adhesive backing: Before you make a template, paste in the back of the fabric a self-adhesive backing, so that the fabric does not fray. Just cut the  self-adhesive backing a little wider than the template,
place it on the back of the skirt at the bottom, use a medium heat iron to adhere to the self-adhesive backing to the fabric. Then follow all the steps above and ready!

Tree House

DIY Neon Market Bag

Necesitaras:
• Bolsa de mimbre o rafia
• Pintura en spray
• Cinta adhesiva
• Periódico

Paso 1.- Enmascarillar

You need:
• Raffia straw market bag
• Neon yellow and white spray paint (non-toxic!)
• Masking Tape
• Newspaper

Step 1. - Mask
Using masking tape trace a straight line, below which will be spray painted. Use the newspaper to protect the other side of the bag that painted it. Secure newspaper over the whole top of the bag above the tape line, so that its protected from paint.

Step2. - Paint Base
In a well ventilated area, place the bag upside down on a layer of newspaper to avoid staining the surface. Using a white spray paint, paint a layer and wait for it to dry.
Use a light coat of white paint first so that the neon color would pop when you applied it.

Step 3. - Neon Paint
Repeat the above step with neon paint, paint two coats of paint and wait for it to dry between each.
The  with spray painting is to apply a number of light coats rather than a single heavy coat. That way you won't have any drips and the colour with be nice and smooth.

Step 4.-Ready!
Leave to dry overnight. You can finish decorating the bag with some tassels or ribbons of color.

Jennifer Collier

Her practice focuses on creating work from paper; by bonding, waxing, trapping and
stitching she produce unusual paper ‘fabrics’, which are used to explore the ‘remaking’
of household objects.  The papers are treated as if cloth, with the main technique
employed being stitch; a contemporary twist on traditional textiles.

Wood Frame Glasses

The primary mission of Scott Urban work is craftsmanship. He's a craftsman, artist, designer, and maker
all wrapped up into one. Just like the first frames he created, each new pair is transformed from a solid block
of wood. The texture and natural grain of the wood and his use of hand tools make each pair as individual
as their owner. Scott makes each pair specifically for the person who will wear them. Their culture is shifting back towards specialization, where the relationship between the craftsman and the client is valuable.
