Green Wedding Shoes

Materiales (para hacer una gigantesca rosa):

• 1 Rollo de cinta floral

• 6 Cables florales calibre 18

• 4 Pliegos de papel crepé

• 1 Pliego de papel crepe verde para las hojas, el cáliz, el tallo

• 1 Lápiz

• Pegamento

• Plantillas de papel crepé (descarga de Martha Stewart)

• 3 copias de la plantilla de lágrima

• 8 copias de la plantilla en forma de corazón

• 2 copias de la plantilla de la hoja

• 1 copia de la plantilla cáliz

Cortar los pétalos: Cortar 5-6 pétalos de lágrima y 15-16 pétalos en forma de corazón del papel crepé. Pon de 2 piezas de papel crepé y en la parte superior coloca una copia de la plantilla. No se recomienda cortar a más de 2 capas de papel crepé a la vez ya que los bordes no se puede cortar tan limpiamente. Repite hasta tener todos los pétalos. MUY IMPORTANTE: El Papel crepé es direccional por lo que importa en qué dirección estes cortando. Asegúrate de que el grano esté en posición vertical cuando estes cortando las piezas de la flor.
Cortar las hojas + cáliz: Corta 3 hojas y un cáliz de papel crepé de color verde.
Hacer el tallo: Toma 3 pedazos de alambre y envuelvelos en cinta floral.
Forma de los pétalos: Con ambas manos, tira del centro de los pétalos hacia el exterior. Esto creará una teltura al papel (que es lo que le da la calidad como pétalos). Has este paso a todos los pétalos y el usa el lápiz dando vuelta en la parte superior de los pétalos.
Crear el capullo de rosa - la parte interna de la rosa: Toma un pétalo en forma de lágrima y envuelve el alambre floral. Usa cinta floral para asegurar el pétalo. Repite esto en todo el alambre floral hasta que todos los pétalos en forma de lágrima se utilicen.
Hacer florecer la rosa- parte exterior de la rosa: Toma un pétalo con forma de corazón y envuelve alrededor del capullo de rosa, aseguralo con la cinta floral. Repite hasta que todos los pétalos se han utilizado.
Hacer la hoja-tallos: Toma 3 piezas sueltas de alambre floral y pegamento, envuelve cada uno con papel crepé verde. Toma una hoja de papel crepé y un alambre floral envuelto y pegalos. Repite dos veces más.
Añadir cáliz de rosa: Envolver el cáliz en la base de la flor y asegurar con la cinta floral. Cubra el área con cinta floral y papel crepé.
Añadir las hojas tallos de rosa: Utiliza el pegamento para asegurar cada uno de los tres tallos de hojas en el tallo de rosa. Me pareció útil utilizar clips para sostener los tallos, mientras que el pegamento se estaba secando.
Y ahí lo tienes! Podra tomar un poco de tiempo, pero es una gran (y bastante impresionante) alternativa a las flores de verdad - además de que puedes mantener estas siempre!

Materials (to make one giant rose):

• 1 Roll of floral tape

• 6 18-gauge floral stem wire

• 4 Crepe paper folds for petals

• 1 Crepe paper fold in green for leaves, calyx, stem

• 1 round pencil

• Craft Glue

• Crepe paper templates (download from Martha Stewart)

• 3 copies of teardrop template

• 8 copies of the heart-shaped template

• 2 copies of the leaf template

• 1 copy of the calyx template

Cut the petals: Cut 5-6 teardrop petals and 15-6 heart-shaped petals from the petal colored crepe paper. Stack 2 pieces of crepe paper on top of each other then place 1 copy of template over the crepe paper and staple. I don’t recommend cutting more than 2 layers of crepe paper at a time since the edges won’t be cut as cleanly. Repeat until all of your petals are cut. VERY IMPORTANT: Crepe paper is directional so it matters which way you’re cutting the paper. Make sure the grain is vertical when you’re cutting the flower pieces.
Cut the leaves + calyx: Cut 3 leaves and 1 calyx from the green crepe paper.
Make the rose stem: Take 3 pieces of stem wire and wrap in floral tape.
Shape the petals: With both hands, pull from the center of the petal outward. This will create a cupping of the paper (which is what gives it the petal-like quality). Turn petal over and use the round pencil to curl the top of the petal.
Create the rose bud – the inner part of the rose: Take one teardrop shaped petal and wrap around the taped floral wire from Step 3. Use more floral tape to secure. Repeat working your way around the floral wire until all of the teardrop shaped petals are use.
Make the rose bloom –the outer part of the rose: Take one heart-shaped petal and wrap around the rose bud, secure with floral tape. Repeat until all petals have been used.
Make the leaf-stems: Take 3 loose pieces of floral wire and using craft glue, wrap each one with green crepe paper. Take one leaf and 1 crepe paper wrapped floral wire from step 10 and glue together. Repeat 2 more times.
Add calyx to rose: Wrap the calyx around the base of the rose bloom and secure with floral tape. Cover the floral tape area with more crepe paper.
Add leaf-stems to rose: Using craft glue, secure each of the 3 leaf-stems to the rose stem. I found it helpful to use binder clips to hold the stems together while the glue was drying.
And there you go! It might take a little time, but a great (and pretty awesome) alternative to real flowers for your bouquet – plus you can keep these forever!
